Assessment

An evaluation that ends with a plan, not a label

Assessment examines reading and related language skills. Findings and recommendations are discussed with families as part of the process.

The process

What assessment looks like

  1. 01

    Inquiry

You send adult contact details and a broad question about assessment availability or the process. Clinical history is gathered securely in Wiz Therapy.

  2. 02

    Intake conversation

We gather history — school reports, prior testing, what has already been tried.

  3. 03

    Evaluation sessions

Direct assessment of reading, spelling, phonological processing and related language skills.

  4. 04

    Findings and plan

A written report plus a conversation, with recommendations for home, school and intervention.

What you receive

A report you can use

A good evaluation answers three questions: what is happening, why it is happening, and what to do next. Ours is written so you can bring it to a school meeting and be understood.

It includes the profile of strengths and difficulties, how the findings relate to dyslexia and related profiles, and specific instructional recommendations — including whether intervention at the Center is the right next step.

Inquire

Ask about an assessment

Do not include a child's name, age, diagnosis, reports or other clinical details. Secure intake remains in Wiz Therapy.

We use this only to route your inquiry to the right person at Illuminations.
