Our story
Built by people who refused to accept that a child couldn't learn to read
Illuminations began with families who had run out of options, and grew into an organization that works on the same problem from several directions at once.
Why we exist
Reading is not optional
Dyslexia is common, well understood and highly responsive to the right instruction. Yet families still spend years being told to wait, and schools still carry the weight of reading systems that were never designed for the students who struggle most.
Illuminations exists to close that gap from both ends: directly with families through the Center for Dyslexia, and at scale with schools and districts through Literacy Solutions. VTO Reading extends that same instruction into daily practice, and Leta Palmiter's work carries the argument into rooms where decisions get made.
These are different audiences with different needs, which is why they have different front doors. They are one organization because the underlying commitment is the same.
